Problem: If a user has a Windows 2003 domain and his GP is set up to run scripts on all the XP workstations and he wants to switch to Windows 7, will his Windows 7 Workstation run the run the script from the GP? How will a user copy the script to his startup folder?

• First of all open the Active Directory Users and Computers  Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in, right-click on domain object and select Properties
• Select the Group Policy tab
• Snap-in for MMC if you are  using Group Policy Management Console. If you are following this step, above two steps can be skipped
• Select the default Domain Policy (or any other enforced domain policy) and then click on the edit option.
• Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Group Policy
• Check out the script policy processing and double click on scripts policy processing and then select or check the enabled. You are also required to select and allow processing across a slow network connection in the box and then press OK.

Apart from this, you can also change the other default behaviors that do not execute when the slow link is detected. These changes include:

• Folder redirection policy processing
• Disk quota policy processing
• Scripts policy processing
• EFS recovery policy processing
• Policy processing
• IP security policy processing
• Internet Explorer maintenance policy processing
• Wireless policy processing

After all these steps have been processed, you need to close the MMC snap-in and then restart the remote computer or workstation.
