Do not get bugged with the problem of non-responding Windows 7 to CD or DVD drive

Problem: Users running Windows 7 on their systems face problems while installation as they were prompted for a CD driver and have to then install USB DVD drive. Problem does not end here. Once the installation is over, drive spins when a CD is installed. Problem not solved even after disabling the autorun. Moreover, all the drivers are installed with no drive errors or notices in drive manager.

Steps to troubleshoot the problem of CD or DVD not responding with Windows 7:
- Type ‘Start Run’ without the hyphens in start/run icon
- Type gpedit.msc
- Go to User configuration/Administrative templates/Windows components/Windows explorer on the right pane and the click two times on
- “Remove CD burning features”
- Tick the enabled button
- Click on the OK option
- Reboot or logoff / logon to apply
The following steps to overcome the problem related with CD and DVD Drive in Windows 7:
- Type ‘regedit’ without the hypens in the command lines of start/run
- Press the Ctrl+F keys or you can also select the Find/ Search option and then type pr conpy paste:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
- Create a new 32-bit DWORD value in the right pane (if it does not exist). Here is a description for how to write 32 bit DWORD
- Pressedit -> new-> DWORD (32 bit value)
- You enter the registry editor
- Allows you to create a new DWORD
There is one more method to create new 32-bit DWORD:
- Click the right end of the mouse over the right pane
- A pop menu will be displayed
- Select New/Dword
- Right click the new D word and then rename it
- Select modify; give it a value of 1
- After the value has been set, name the new values as NoCDBurning, and assign the value data to 1
- Reboot or logoff/logon to apply
