windows7Authentium, an information technology company that develops software and services to protect consumers in a connected world, on September 10 launched the latest version of its award-winning secure browser, SafeCentral 2.5, ahead of the scheduled Microsoft Windows 7 release next month.

The company has opened a 30-day public beta for all Windows 7 versions, as well as 64-bit XP and Vista operating systems with the release. SafeCentral’s secure browsing technology, which provides proactive protection and prevention of online identity theft, will help early adopters of Windows 7.

Doug Brunt, chief executive of Authentium, said that SafeCentral 2.5 has been launched ahead of the official Windows 7 release “to ensure the security of online transactions and social media interactions of early adopters”.

He added that the new version of the secure browser protects login information, passwords, and financial information that consumers enter into their systems, even if the computers are already infected with malicious software.
