Install the newest version of the Windows 7 on your netbook.

Problem:

The problem with netbooks is that they don’t have CD/DVD drives, while Windows 7 comes in a DVD.

Solution:

One cannot deny the fact that the next best thing in the Windows Client system is the Windows 7. It is compatible with almost all of the Windows Vista applications. It is surely a responsive and reliable product with its existence taking form from the many feedbacks that has been registered from users all over. To load this version on your Netbook, one can directly install it from the Microsoft website.

Once you open the Microsoft Windows 7 Beta webpage, you will have to scroll down and select the 32-bit version of Windows 7. You will have to sign in now, for this purpose you will need to have a Windows Live account. Worry not, any MSN hotmail or MSN Messenger mail ID is your Windows Live ID.

The part now comes for a quick download before you get started with the installation process. This will take a while and will depend entirely upon your internet connection. Now, getting back to ’signing in’, after you have signed in, you will encounter an individual Windows 7 Beta-bit Product Key with a Download Now link at the end of the page. Select this and save it on a file where you can easily locate it later. The desktop is a viable option. You will have to burn a single ISO file with Nero or BurnAware to enable yourself to move on to the next step.

Once you enter this disk in the optical drive, you will need to boot up your computer. There will be an option to boot from the CD/DVD, at this point hit Enter to enable the startup. When the media loads on its own, the first of the several setup screens will pop up for Windows 7. Now quickly select the language, time and currency and also the keyboard and input methods from this option. Keeping the order in mind again, select Next first and then install and you will see a License Terms page popping up. Click on ‘I Accept’ and select Next to further this installation process.

At this point, you will receive a flurry of queries regarding ‘which type of installation you want’ and ‘where do you want to install Windows’. Select Custom for the former and select the disk you want to install in for the latter. The Windows installing screen will automatically pop up now and the setup takes it form here. You should let it work on itself while it copies and expands files, install features and updates and completes the installation on its own. It will take a while depending on the speed of your internet connection. When this is done, it is your turn to set your settings, personalizing it to your convenience and compatibility. You will have to start by entering your User and Computer name whenever prompted along with your Product Key. Next update your time and date settings and going by the availability options, select your Wireless Network and security key as well. Record your password in the Homegroup screen (as most users have Home) and finally, on your desktop the Windows 7 will prepare itself to get you up and running on its own.
