Windows 7 LanguageOut of several features of Windows 7, it is perhaps among those features which have received the least attention. But, it is one of the most useful features for the emigrants PC users which allows them to switch the language of the operating system.

Whenever, people living outside their home country buy a computer, they face several problems. Windows has been constructed on a single language, so if any user is in Germany they either had to put up with German Interface or need to spend for another copy of Windows in English.

Both ways have their limitations. Transversing an operating system in an unfamiliar language can be a problem. Sometimes, it gets very difficult to understand Windows error message in the language, you are not comfortable with.

But, there is a solution to it with Windows 7, or to be more specific: Windows 7 Ultimate.

In the most high-priced version of Windows 7, Microsoft is providing the ability to switch the interface language among any of 35 languages. You can download new language packs which are available for free.

Microsoft also addresses the problems faced by IT professionals and deployment specialists in maintaining multilingual images with the Multilanguage Image feature in its latest operating system, Windows 7.

The tool enables IT professionals to create and deploy multilingual versions of Windows 7 using Windows Automated Installation Kit or OEM Preinstallation Kit tools. This will help to create multilingual images that reduces the number of images that user needs to maintain. The images can be put into action from a server, media or from network share.

The language packs and other update packages can be added to an offline Windows image. Then, you can boot the image in audit mode and add applications and drivers, which will help you to recapture the image. Test the captured image. Once it is tested, by removing unnecessary language resources, create regional images. You can use these regional languages for deployment.

Further improvements have also been made in the tool for the smooth creation and deployment of the multilingual Windows images. Earlier, the number of language packs that could be added were limited but now in Windows 7, the language pack performance and size have been improved.
