The new Windows 7 operating system provides the medium for managing all the wireless networks, which the computer can automatically access, provided it is in range of network along with the type of security it uses.
If the system uses a WiFi adapter to connect to your preferred network like in the office as well as to the Internet, then the Manage Wireless Networks link can be used for the purpose of connecting to the preferred network or Internet. This link appears in the Navigation pane of computer’s Network and Sharing Center window, which can be accessed by clicking on Start, followed by the Control Panel, and then View Network Status and Tasks.
When you click on the Manage Wireless Networks link, a Manage Wireless Networks window is opened by Windows 7. This window displays each of the wireless networks which your computer tries to automatically access when the computer, as assumed to be equipped with a wireless networking card, is in the range of the network.
You can modify the order in which Windows 7 system automatically connect to wireless networks. For modifying the order in which the computer running Windows 7 tries to connect to any one of the available wireless networks as listed in the Manage Wireless Networks window; all you need to do is to drag the network icon, which you prefer the most, to a new position in the list. You can also move that particular network up to the top of the list, so as to make it the most preferred network, which you try to connect to, you can also drag it down to the bottom to make it as the last network to try to connect to.
The new windows 7 gives an option to change the position of the wireless connection in the listing. The changes can be made by clicking on the preferred network in the Manage Wireless Networks window followed by clicking on either of the move up or move down buttons which can be seen on the toolbar when you are having multiple networks listed.
