Windows 7 Search It can be quite challenging task if you have to find just the right file when you need it. In case you have forgotten the location of your file or any program and you are unable to recall it; then, how will you get the desired file or program?

Here comes the role of Windows Search. The Windows Search tool in Windows 7 operating system gives you a simple and a comprehensive solution for searching and systematizing the content about which you are well concerned. Rather, that content is on your computer, on the web, or in an e-mail message as an attachment.

In simple words, Windows Search helps the user in finding their favorite programs, files, messages, and message attachments on their computer and that too as soon as possible. You do not have to remember the name or the location of the item. You just have to open the search box from the start menu and enter a word or a phrase for displaying the list of items which matches the search term, which you are looking for.

Windows Search Tool The search option allows you to limit your search to a particular folder or a subfolder. For doing so, you have to display the particular folder in windows Explorer and then type the search term in the search box, which is positioned at the upper right hand corner of the window. Actually, Windows Search maintains an index of every key word associated with the data files present on the Windows 7 PC. The key words stored are of the program names, common tasks, documents, music, videos and graphics, web pages which get stored in the recent history or Favorites list, and certain other information. It automatically indexes the most common file types like the Word documents, text files, and e-mail messages. It does not index file types like the operating system files, which are less likely to be searched.
