Take a look at some of the Windows 7 or improved tools developed for windows users. In this article, we’ll discuss the following Windows 7 tools that make Windows 7 the best operating system on the earth.
Five features of Windows 7
1. Problem Step recorder is great feature of Windows 7. It is included to record the problems experienced by the users. Users experiencing problems can fire up the recorder, and should create a log, that includes screen shots of each step, and highlighted buttons to perform the necessary steps to demonstrate the problem.
2. Credential Manager, a new feature introduced in the latest Windows 7 operating system is similar to the Windows Vista’s password management feature in the User Accounts applet. This tool helps in managing the Windows credentials for various computers that you sign into, along with the certificate based credentials and generic credentials for email and web accounts, and many more. By default all these are saved in the Windows Vault. Also, it helps you to backup and restore the Vault. The backup of the credentials can be taken to a USB Flash drive or any storage medium such that it can be restored in case of any hardware failure.
3. Windows Easy Transfer helps you to move system or application settings and data. The tool assists you in copying your files, photos, music, emails, settings, and more from a computer running Windows XP to a system running Windows 7.
4. ReadyBoost, which also comes with Vista, uses a USB flash drive or card as memory and it works with most of the flash storage devices. In Windows 7, it can handle more flash memory and even multiple devices up to eight, for a maximum 256GB of additional memory. When you plug a ReadyBoost-compatible storage device into your computer, the AutoPlay dialog box offers you the option to speed up your computer using ReadyBoost. If you select this option, you can choose how much memory on the device to use for this purpose. When you set up a device to work with ReadyBoost, Windows shows you the space recommended for an optimal performance. For ReadyBoost to effectively speed up your computer, the flash drive or memory card should have at least 1GB of available space. If you don’t have enough available space for ReadyBoost, you’ll see a message asking you to free some space on the device if you want to use it to speed up your system. You can enable or disable ReadyBoost for a specific flash drive or other removable storage device.
5. System Repair Disc an important and an invaluable utility which can act as a system saver in case your PC fails to boot into Windows. With the help of this tool, you can make a System Repair Disc which can be used to restore your Windows 7 system.
