As we all know, Control Panel is the area, which allows you to make changes to various computer settings. For opening the control panel in Windows 7, you have to click on the Start button which can be accessed on the taskbar and then you have to click on the Windows 7 Control Panel on the Start menu.
The new Windows 7 operating system provides three different views for looking at the computer’s Control Panel, which are Category view, Large Icons view and Small Icons view.
The Category view consists of the links which represents a group of related Control Panel programs displayed in two columns. Many of the large and individual Control Panel program icons appear in the Control Panel are displayed by the Large Icons view. Whereas, all the small and individual Control Panel program icons in the Control Panel are displayed by the Small Icons view.
All the aspects of the Windows 7 operating system like its looks, the way it works, and the it communicates, and others can be very well organized by the Control Panel.
By default the Control Panel window in the Windows 7 operating system, is shown only in category view. It provides access to eight categories of items. These categories are that of Appearance, Personalization Clock, Language, and Region Ease of Access Hardware and Sound, Network and Internet, Programs, System and Security, User Accounts and Family Safety.
There are more than 60 individual Control Panel items which can be accessed from the control panel. on the Homepage of the All Control Panel Items, all the items are displayed in the classic view.
The items which are common to all Windows 7 installation, in the All Control Panel Items window are Action Center, Administrative Tools, AutoPlay, Backup and Restore, BitLocker Drive Encryption, Getting Started, Credential Manager, Indexing Options, Date and Time, Default Programs, Device Manager, Devices and Printers, Display, Ease of Access Center, Color Management, Folder Options, Fonts, HomeGroup, Internet Options, Keyboard, Location and Other Sensors, Mouse, Network and Sharing Center, Notification Area Icons, Power Options, Parental Controls, Performance Information and Tools, Personalization, Phone and Modem, Programs and Features, Recovery, Region and Language, RemoteApp and Desktop Connections, Desktop Gadgets, Speech Recognition, Sound, Sync Center, System, Taskbar and Start Menu, Troubleshooting, User Accounts, Windows CardSpace, Windows Defender, Windows Firewall, Windows Update etc.
