Microsoft has introduced many improved features in Windows 7 and remain more focused this time, with the goal to make Windows 7 more compatible and user friendly. Adding to a list of convenience, enhanced desktop is included for better performance.

Windows 7 desktop consists of taskbar, a background image, gadgets and icons. Microsoft has made a remarkable change in taskbar, introduced attractive background themes, you can display gadgets on the screen and place icons on the desktop which you want to place in the background.

Gadgets are highly useful mini-applications that keeps you update by providing access to changing information such as current time, weather, stock quotes, new feeds, etc. You can add, modify, can change the opacity of the gadget and even re-size the gadgets.

Some gadgets in Windows 7 have Larger Size option that allows you to increase its display size on the desktop. To use this option, place mouse pointer on the gadget and click the Larger Size button. After the display size of the gadget has been increased, the Larger Size button will change in to Smaller Size button that you can select if you want to appear the gadget in its original display size on the desktop.

Windows 7 also facilitates you by offering you to reposition any gadget on the desktop by moving it to the original position. If you want to relocate a gadget, place the mouse pointer on drag Gadget button and then drag and drop the gadget in its new position on the Windows desktop.

You can also customize the opacity of gadget and make them see through.
