Windows 7 Gadgets are highly useful mini-applications that keeps you updated by providing access to changing information such as current time, weather, stock quotes, new feeds, etc. Have a look at some of the gadgets:
Clock: It shows an analog clock with the current time for any zone time selected by you.
Slide Show: It shows a continuous slide show of the images stored in pictures library.
Calender: It displays current day and date.
Weather: Always keep yourself updated with current temperature for a chosen town or city.
Feed Headlines: It updates you with the news headlines for the RSS feed you have selected.
If you want to add new gadgets to your desktop, it can be easily added. Windows 7 not only provides you with the facility to select the new gadgets from among those that are automatically present in it but also allows you to download gadgets from an online library. When new gadgets have been added by you, Windows automatically exhibit them on the right of your desktop.
If you want to add the gadgets that are already available in Windows 7, try the following:
1. Right click the desktop and select Gadgets from the shortcut menu. Windows 7 will open the Gadget Gallery that will display all the gadgets on your computer.
2. Double-click the icon of the gadget that you need to add to your desktop.
3. When you will add all the gadgets, click the close button in the Gadget gallery window.
And if you want to download more gadgets from the Internet, open the Gadget Gallery window and then click the Get More gadget Online Link. Re: desktop gagets – weather. how can I change the city to show weather in my own city?
Steps to follow:
i. Right Click on Desktop
ii. Click on Gadget
iii. Right click on the weather gadget, select uninstall
iv. Restart the computer
